YANNIS HAIR SALON ATHENS | 2003

Slits of light Create a connecting fabric that moves from space to space, mending the fragmented interior.

This project was an exercise in minimal intervention.
The design is based on light management: slits of light that move through the ceiling, come down the walls and wooden floors, in order to express the following design principles:
– Maintaining the specific ambience of this typical 50’s apartment.
– Creating a connecting fabric that moves from space to space, mending the fragmented interior.
– Setting up a spatial game, based on introducing new analogies, materials, details enhanced by the slits of light.

In conclusion, all the above aim at capturing the energy and constant movement of the exterior, one of the most common center subway stations in Athens, and reflecting it in the interior space..
