Abstraction and theatrical use of light in the interior space of the house.

This three level house is located at a northern suburb of Athens and enjoys a beautiful two directional view.

The design aims to create a sense of tranquility in the interior space and enhancing the sculptural aspects of the house incorporating a varying light system (hidden-indirect-translucent-cold-warm).

Large openings at both ends of the house, allow air and natural light in the interior, with views in both directions. The main staircase connecting the public and more private areas of the residence becomes a lighting fixture, with light glowing bilaterally from each step.

The materials are chosen in a specific manner: dark color wood for the furniture, which is highlighted by the contrasting color of white marble, bleached wood for the floors and light grey color for the walls.

The design of the furniture (living room, kitchen, WC), follows simple lines and enriches the sculptural qualities of the house.
