Winery in Anavissos, Attica
The site is located in the wine production fields of Attica. The design derives from the linearity of the cultivation. Walls are raised from earth, respecting the linearity, forming benches, spaces, supporting pergolas, indicating movement. Climbing veins are planted by pergolas and grids to create green surfaces.
One proceeds to the interior by the entrance piece, a pleasant transitional space, along water ponds, covered by pergolas. The ground floor includes the common uses: the wine tasting gathering space, the kitchen and the sitting area that open to the south looking courtyards and the wine fields. The guest rooms on the upper floors exit to an elevated terrace with open views.
The materials chosen are rough and refer to traditional architecture attributing to the cozy ambience: brick and concrete for the walls, wood and metal for the openings and the pergolas. Roofs are made of metallic structure covered with rusted cooper sheets.
